Las Ramblas is a 1.2 km primarily pedestrianised walkway that will take you through the heart of Barcelona from Monument a Colom in the south of the city to Placa de Catalunya in the north, though you may find yourself distracted en route by the many side streets and squares that lead off Las Ramblas.

Stay on track, though, and you can take your pick from the very many bars and restaurants, as well as browse stalls packed with all kinds of wares, and be entertained by a host of street entertainers until the early hours! Because it runs through the heart of the city, you’ll find many points of interest along its length: the Maritime Museum can be found in the Royal Docklands of medieval times, while in the centre you will find the recently restored cathedral in the Gothic Quarter. Other attractions are La Boqueria market and the Liceo Theatre, and historic buildings such as the Palace of the Virreina.
